Comprehensive Climate Change and Health-National Adaptation Plan(C3HNAP)

Climate change has emerged as one of the most significant challenges of the 21st century, impacting
various aspects of human life, including mental health. Bangladesh, a low-lying country situated in
South Asia, is particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change due to its geographical
location and socio-economic conditions. As the effects of climate change intensify, Bangladeshis are
experiencing a growing mental health crisis.

One of the primary concerns in Bangladesh is the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme
weather events. Cyclones, floods, and rising sea levels have become more frequent and severe,
leading to loss of lives, displacement, destruction of homes and infrastructure, and disruption of
livelihoods.
